About The Artists

Madeleine Houston- Photography

Madeleine Houston

My photography reflects my life & interests. Because of my strong commitment to nature and wilderness and my love of outdoorsy pursuits such as hiking and canoeing, I gravitate towards photographing nature and landscapes. I live in a rural area where I am attracted to the denizens (both human and non) of farmland and the fringes. Occasionally, I find myself in the city, where interesting people and places catch my eye.

I am a member of ARTrails of Southwest Washington and of the Rectangle Gallery in Centralia, Washington.

Mike Morgan-Political/Social Sculptor

Mike Morgan is a retired high school art teacher.  He is versatile in many mediums including drawing, painting, photography, pottery, architectural and landscaping design.  But his personal favorite is sculpture.  Usually working with multiple materials,  his art often has a political or social overtone.
Mike and his wife Di (also an ARTrails artist) own and operate the Morgan Arts Centre and Art Gallery 505 in Toledo, Washington, and are members of the Gallery 505 Artist Co-op.  They offer summer art camps including Camp Picasso and the Children’s Theater Workshop.
In addition to teaching, the Morgans put on yearly events like the Vernal Equinox Art Fair in March, The Battle of the CowlArtz (student art show) in May, and the Holiday Art Market in November.  The Morgan Arts Centre is also the meeting place for ARTrails.

PeiPei Wallace- Ceramic Artist

PeiPei Hsu Wallace

Peipei has always loved arts and crafts. More than a decade ago, she came to the States to pursue a college degree in art education. But, after taking her first ceramic class, she fell in love with this versatile and exciting medium, enough to change her major to ceramics, enough to have taken many long trips to various workshops and attended many national ceramic conferences across the country. To her, it’s a never ending learning process.
Peipei started teaching ceramics at LCC a couple of years ago. She is involved in all aspects of ceramics and has endless conversations with students. Through teaching, she is inspired. That changes her work. Her work has always involved prints and sgraffitos. Recently she started playing with different colors of clay. Mix them up for slabs and wheel thrown. Mix up slabs and wheel thrown as well. Mix up functional pottery with twist of sculpture. It’s been fun!
