Nothing inspires Earlene Holmstrom more than the people she encounters daily. She loves the challenge of capturing the subtle nuances in each face, and the emotional message in the movement of a figure.

“Painting takes me to a place where time disappears and all that exists is me and the emotional connection between me and the portrait or figure I am painting. Soft pastels satisfy my need for intensity, immediacy, and emotion. Painting replenishes my soul and prepares me for another day in the real world.” –Earlene Holmstrom
