I have been an artist since I drew eyelashes on my paper elephant in kindergarten. Continuing through life and continuing my love for drawing and painting, I became a flower painter after moving to Oregon from southern California in 2004. I had the privilege of being a docent at the Portland Art Museum having fun with the school children especially. During those years as a docent, I also went to Portland State and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in art.
The power of being exposed to such great works of art while studying them at the museum significantly strengthened my foundation and solidified my desire to create my art. During the pandemic, I took up flower arranging for fun and added that new dimension of artistic knowledge into my floral paintings. It all works together. I have traveled to many European countries over the years, appreciating the art history through the ages of all those countries. I have also traveled to the interior of Mexico many times giving me an additional appreciation for the many diverse customs and cultures within the country. I have welcomed the vibrant and beautiful Mexican colors into my own artwork.
