Artwork by Southwest Washington and Oregon artists.

March 2024 Featured Artists

Join us for our First Thursday Reception at the Broadway Gallery on March 7, 5:30-7:00 pm.

Delve into some unique artwork by two of our newest members Phil Fake, painting and Fran McCool, textile and sculpture. Phil has some large unique paintings from local scenes and homes and Fran has great selection of cheerful fabric bags and unusually designed sculpted pins.
Enjoy speaking with the artists, visiting with friends, and having great refreshments while listening to the music by Keith Hinyard.

I call myself a Neighborhood Artist because as a child I went around and painted pictures of the neighbor’s houses. I would then take the painting to the door and sell it to them. I never really stopped painting my surroundings, and I have never quit painting plein air. I have always felt that the places we create to live in tell us about who we are. We spend much of our lives adding color to our landscape. I have always contended that we are trying to create a bit of our own paradise in the neighborhoods we create. There is often a human narrative within the composition, if you can find it.

I am a native of Colorado, I grew up in Denver. Like many kids with an active imagination I would draw and color. This was a way that I could express myself and it evolved as I started to
have access to other mediums.

I learned to sew to make clothes and accessories. Jewelry making is still a part of my creative outlet. After high school, I attended the Colorado Institute of Art and received an Associate in Visual Communication-graphics and advertising art. I am currently learning new mediums so my art can evolve. I like to paint celebrities and movie scenes. Also, I make wearable sculpture pins depicting Mardi Gras masks and characters.
I moved to Washington and found an amazing community of great artists and I am happy to be part of the community that inspires imagination and beauty.
