Maureen O’Hara- Painting

Maureen O’Hara

I started taking art classes with Creative Arts Community (CAC) at Menucha in the Columbia Gorge.
My first teacher was Marla Baggetta and the medium was pastel. I was hooked. I took drawing classes at PCC with Linda Berkley. I began taking painting classes at CAC and started to find my voice.

Other teachers who have shaped my painting include: Sandy Roumagoux, Melinda Thorsnes, Ruth Armitage, JoAnn Gilles, Trish Harding, Mary Josephson and Christopher Shotola-Hardt. However, I never would have picked up a paint brush if it wasn’t for my sister-in-law, Norma Morrell. As an artist herself, she encouraged me in so many ways.
